Context

Nossa Data was turning a complex ESG reporting process into a product that people could use without becoming reporting specialists. The early challenge joined product definition, user experience and a dependable technical foundation.

My remit

I joined as the first hire and led the early product and engineering work. That meant shaping priorities with the founders, learning from pilot use and implementing the platform rather than treating discovery and delivery as separate tracks.

Decisions and delivery

  • Reworked the reporting journey around what users needed to understand and complete.
  • Used FastAPI, React, Next.js and PostgreSQL for a focused web product.
  • Improved queries and infrastructure as real use exposed the next constraints.
  • Built product feedback into the roadmap instead of expanding the questionnaire indiscriminately.
  • Later strengthened access, infrastructure and engineering controls in support of ISO 27001 work.

Outcome
